many days go by in many places where people don't even use the word "worry" at all - except in the phrase, "don't worry". they don't talk about their public worries, either, not without trying to cover it up with flowery wording about "answers" and "results" and ambitions that speak so loud and so clear that the ambition in itself is something subtle. they hide the private life that holds the ambitions even more so
even though those people aren't all that. many of them do worry, and in a way that is a fabric of their lives
people 60 to a 100 years ago didn't own the word anxiety, not in the liberal sense. they hardly used it a third as much as we did - it occurred a third as much per word in text.
they did not own the word mood, either
all they owned was work. war. material. value. an entirely different lexicon
but those people did worry, i'm sure, after reading about the things that they did. the people that they were
the world they were trying to preserve
