GTA 6: A hundred and ten years of pointless conflict
The great assembly gathered for the first time under their new flag.
They huddled in the winter, the frigidity of eastern winds piercing through their government halls. The grounds outside were silent. They stayed inside, statesmen, bureaucrats and men of science all of them, desperate for warmth.
And they plotted.
A new power was found underground. Great seams of it were found in every country all over the world. With their careful research, a solution to this winter can be found as well.
Das nächste Jahr
A strange formulation was derived from liquid at the bottom of the seeping pools, discovered when the world was first cracked open.
In the right mixtures, it was powerfully explosive. It was ruled uncontainable, too dangerous, by the engineers of the time. The simple ovens that they operated from would leak and seep hot, deadly gasses through weaknesses in the seals. Glass would crack and burst outright from the heat, even if it were to survive the pressure.
Le vent d'ouest de la patrie
A new machine was invented, a beast of metal and fire. The industries of that land, all governed by the great assembly, gorged on the new metals of the time. Stronger metals. Thicker sheets. The entire thing could be made in a dozen pieces, all of them made of the same metal except for one.
These things will soon converge to one. A beast that a man could ride on and be shielded from all weather, hot and cold, to wage war in any land. An automaton braver than any natural beast, that goes faster than any natural beast, that feeds on no food (for there was little food in this land) but the blood of the earth.
The winter was ending faster than any folks could have imagined.
And they would no longer have to hide, quiet and cold, in their assemblies.
The Invaders
Peculiar bearded people showed up on the continent, bringing new ways with them. They were applauded all over the world for their sophistication and efficiency, and so entire ships of immigrants were allowed to come to this land - all they had to do was ask.
Still, hundreds of people are dying in the streets every day. The barons of this country welcomed the bearded men with open arms, filled them with wild infusions of cash, and now they are marching thousands and thousands of these new spangled tin cans out into the city.
It's a disaster out there.
De toekomst, liever het heden
Gangs of raiders ride in these things, filling each of them to the brim with reckless young men. Every highway is ultimately ruled by them, and they are armed. They are quick, for their foundation is of these machines. They are organized, for they have to be in order to intercept new shipments of earthblood.
The police followed in turn with their own machines of war, but they were too slow and too over budget to go after each and every one of them. Giving up, they retired back to the cities to maintain what semblance of law and order that used to exist. The government would ignore crime, and in turn, crime would ignore the government.
That is the world we live in today.
